BasePy desktop platform
One shared framework (MVC, directory sign-on, self-updater, packaging) behind five departments' desktop applications.
What it is
Five Windows desktop applications for five departments. They share one framework, built once and forked per department: the same seven top-level packages, the same strict model-view-controller split, the same directory sign-on with a fallback controller, the same session object, the same self-updater and the same packaging into a Windows installer. A developer can move between them in an afternoon.
My role differs per application. I am lead maintainer of the quality-assurance application and sole author of the attendance kiosk. On the others I cut releases and made targeted fixes, or contributed a single module. I also built the skeleton one of them started from, and walked the junior developer who then wrote that application through how we build these: where logic belongs, how a screen and its controller pair up, how a release reaches production.
